Our Vision

Education is a right, not a privilege, and Rumie works to ensure this right for everyone worldwide, no matter their circumstances. If you share that belief, get involved at work, in your community, or support us.

Our Mission

We make accessible, innovative, and authentic learning available for everyone with a mobile device, without barriers.

Our mission is to create opportunities for a better life through learning critical thinking skills.

Fundamental Principles

  • All learners have a right to accurate, comprehensive, and balanced information.
  • Our content promotes social and economic equity, which is linked to global wellbeing — providing every individual with an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents.

Acknowledgement

Rumie is a learning technology nonprofit organization located in Toronto, Canada that facilitates the authoring and free dissemination of microlearning lessons called Bytes. Rumie provides the tools and a platform for volunteers to build Bytes covering a broad range of topics based on their skills and expertise. We acknowledge the inherent cultural, linguistic, and geographic biases present in our own organization and core author community. As a small organization, we try our best to guide contributions that are culturally sensitive and aware.

Editorial Independence

  • Rumie is dedicated to ensuring that everything produced in our association embodies our values of neutrality, openness, honesty, and integrity. These principles guide the way we create and distribute our content.
  • Our editorial team of learning designers, writers, review board members, and others is exclusively responsible for creating all editorial content, including Bytes, articles and guides.
  • We do not accept any form of sponsored material or advertising. Our website has never had, and never will have, any paid promotions or corporate influence.

Fact-checking and Review Process

  • The editorial content on topics that could directly impact the reader’s happiness, health, safety, or financial stability is fact-checked by review board members who have extensive expertise and/or accreditation in the field associated with the topic (M.D., Ph.D. L.Ac., CPA, CFA etc.) and review all content and references for accuracy and relevance.
  • Our Byte learning designers rely on primary and authoritative sources, including research papers, interviews, government and industry websites, data, and documents, to ensure our content is as explicit and complete as possible.
  • If we make a factual error, we post a correction on the Byte, article, guide or list where the error occurred. Readers may contact us at info@rumie.org to report mistakes or to register complaints.
