Setting goals & working towards them can give you a sense of purpose.

Achieving goals feels good & boosts your self-confidence.

However, if you set unrealistic goals that aren't possible to attain, it can be defeating.

Instead of feeling satisfied, you may feel worse about yourself than you did before.

It is important to set goals that are attainable, which are goals that you will be able to achieve.

Is my goal attainable?

When you have a goal in mind, ask yourself this very important question:

Is it possible for me to achieve this goal?

Be honest with yourself, and consider personal and environmental factors that may prevent your goal from happening.

If the answer is yes - great! You can move forward with planning how you will work towards your goal.

If the answer is no - how can you adjust your goal so that it is something you may be able to accomplish?

Some goals may take years to accomplish - this doesn't mean they are unattainable.

It is good to have goals at all levels of difficulty.

60% Easy

60% of your goals should be doable, you are almost certain that you will be able to achieve them.

30% Challenging

30% of your goals should be more challenging. They are doable, but will require more effort and focus to achieve.

10% Aspirational

10% of your goals should be aspirational, and feel like a stretch. They might be doable, and are something to strive for.
